The website for the embassy in Santiago, Chile, shows a video of the chief diplomat raising a rainbow flag last month for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. A practice routinely approved for most of the decade at many embassies now requires top-level approval from the State Department. But this year, as first reported by NBC News, all requests were nixed.

Create an on-trend tie-dye rainbow tee to wear or have your group go as different colors of rainbow, so in pictures, you complete the color spectrum. Create an entire look made from a rainbow flag or let your rainbow accessories do the talking.

In relative history, LGBT establishments have only been out of the closet so long. That said, labels can serve a purpose, especially when it comes to shaping identity. With much of the community underground and no role models present in the media, many LGBT people growing up only learned the name for what they were experiencing by coming across the term in a medical dictionary, always in a negative context.

Pride Month draws to a close but the fun isn't over yet. Events of this month have shown that Pride is still an essential time in the calendar, not just for parties but for furthering the fight for equality. The month will be full of events including art exhibitions, film screenings, talks and club nights.
