Classes run 3 nights a week. Why take the Welding Fast Track? You might have heard about all sorts of exciting career opportunities like structural welding, pipe welding, aircraft welding and even underwater welding!
This course starts at the beginning and provides information on safety practice in the techniques of bead disposition in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, and on four types of joints using mild steel. Students will also learn the basics of electrode selection and oxyacetylene burning — both manual and automatic. Students must attend the first night of class to avoid cancellation of registration. Materials and one practice test is included in tuition.
Adult education programs in welding are often available as certificate and associate's degree programs at community colleges and trade schools. Course objective: To be able to produce quality multi pass fillet and square groove welds in all positions using E, E and E electrodes. Course content: This course provides the student with a thorough technical understanding of arc welding, welding safety, arc welding power sources, electrode classifications and selection. It also provides training to develop the skills necessary to make quality shielded metal arc welds in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions on mild steel plate, single and multiple pass, using mild steel, low hydrogen, and iron powder electrodes, with DC welding current.
Develop your entry-level welding skills in this class that covers knowledge, safety, and practical application of welding technologies. Students must wear appropriate safety clothing. Textbook required. Participants learn how to adjust machines, prepare materials, and apply stick welds on carbon steel in various positions horizontal and vertical.
