Yes, the Galactic Empire, the one from the movies, was pretty bad. They dressed liked nazis, were super racist and sexist, blew up planets, etc. And thousands of years earlier, it was.
I read the FAQ. I think the part that makes me the most excited about it is the apparent diffulculty invlolved with becoming a Jedi. That's so sweet, because when I become one, I know I'll be one of a patient, rare few.

Some time ago, I wrote here at Terra Nova that MMOGs really don't get a "do-over"that later changes to the game almost necessarily sit on top of old mechanics, that design is cumulative. The live management team for Star Wars: Galaxies set out to prove me wrong with their "combat upgrade" and "Jedi revamp" a while back, and I watched with some interest. I couldn't see how they planned to change the rest of the game at the same time as the combat upgrade, given how tight the interdependencies of the game were.
Why Star Wars Galaxies sucks. A dumb booklet that has stupid pictures, a stupid pewter statue of a girl, a patch, button, and some other lame items. My wait was definately not worth it. Thanks for making a site for blowing off some steam.
The story takes place in the Star Wars fictional universe shortly after the establishment of a tenuous peace between the re-emergent Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic years after the events of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games, and more than 3, years before the events in the Star Wars films. Suddenly, a Sith named Darth Malgus, who serves as the main antagonist, and his master Vindican, along with several Sith troops, attack the base. Malgus then kills Vindican, who was wounded by Darach.
